Metcalf Bottoms Trail
The Metcalf Bottoms trail runs from the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area to the Little Greenbrier Schoolhouse. This is a fairly easy trail that is but 7/10th’s of a mile in length. So if you’re having a picnic at the pavilion and would like to hike over to the old log schoolhouse to burn off lunch, this is a fun little trek. If you’re feeling a little heavy after lunch you can drive up to the schoolhouse, there is a road that will take you there. The road is blocked off there, but you can hike past where it is blocked off – this is the beginning of the Little Brier Gap Trail that goes on to the Walker Sisters Cabin about a mile further up the trail.
